The health
of the mind and the body has preoccupied people since the beginning of human
existence. The classical Latin proverb Mens
in corpore sano formulated by the
Roman poeta Juvenal (60? – 140?) shows this.
Here we
have some other proverbs about the same subject:
1. An apple a day keeps the doctor
away.
2. After dinner sit a while, after
supper walk a mile.
3. The best physicians
are Dr. Diet, Dr. Quiet and Dr. Merryman.
4. Eat to live and not live to eat.
5. Early to bed and early to rise,
makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
6. One hour’s sleep before midnight is
worth two hours after.
7. Diseases come on horseback but go
away on foot.
8. Nature, time and patience are three
great physicians.
